Sheehy, Mary Johanna (Murphy)
Sheehy, Mary Johanna (Murphy) , 89, died at her home in West Yarmouth on Friday April 9.
Wife of the late Francis E. Sheehy who died in 1976.
Born in Cambridge, she was raised and educated in Waltham and summered many years on Cape Cod with her family before moving here in 1959.
She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth and was a member of the Church Guild. For several years she taught CCD in the parish.
She was, for many years, a volunteer at Cape Cod Hospital and also in Nursing Homes. Her interests included painting, gardening, cooking and playing bridge with her friends.
Survivors include her daughter Maire Sheehy of West Yarmouth, her son David Sheehy of Falmouth and her granddaughter, Ashley Sheehy of Falmouth. A Funeral will be held on Tuesday April 13 at 10:00 AM from the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth a Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA. Interment will be held in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Dennis, MA. Donations in her memory may be made to VNA of Cape Cod, Hospice Division, 434 Rte. 134, Building G, South Dennis, MA 02660.
