Chalmers Ann C. (McCarthy)
Chalmers Ann C. (McCarthy), 94 a resident of West Dennis passed away Saturday October 29 at The Eagle Pond Nursing & Rehab Center after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late James H. Chalmers who died in 1980.
She was born in Boston and raised in Medford, graduating from Medford High School Class of 1928.
Mrs. Chalmers worked for ten years in the automobile business in Boston. After her marriage she moved to Woburn, and she worked for the Lincoln Filene Center at Tufts University for twenty years retiring in 1975 and moving to her home in West Dennis.
Mrs. Chalmers was a member of the West Dennis Garden Club, Dennis-Yarmouth Women’s Club, The Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary, and the Jericho Historical Committee.
She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church, and served on the bereavement committee
She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.
She is survived by one son, Dr. James H. Chalmers of Boston, MA
Two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral will be held Saturday November 5 at 10:00AM from the Hallett Funeral Home 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, South Dennis. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, Nov 4, from 4 to 8PM.
