O'Connor, M. Doris (Diggins)
O'Connor, M. Doris (Diggins), 86 of West Yarmouth died Friday January 22, 2010 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.
She was the wife of the late Edward J. O’Connor who died in 1993. They had been married for 44 years.
Born, raised and educated in Worcester, Mrs. O’Connor attended Clark University, Boston College and Assumption College before receiving her nursing degree from Worcester City Hospital.
Mrs. O’Connor served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II and for 27 years worked as nursing supervisor at Worcester City Hospital. She was also a member of the hospital alumni association.
A resident of Yarmouth since 1984, Mrs. O’Connor was a communicant and member of the women’s club at Saint Pius Tenth Church in South Yarmouth.
Mrs. O’Connor is survived by three nephews, Francis, Stephen, and Paul; two nieces, Maura, and Patricia; and a brother in-law, Amos.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday January 27 in Saint Pius Tenth Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Interment will be private.
