St. Jean, Eugene G.
St. Jean, Eugene G., born on April 12 1925 in West Springfield. MA, Eugene passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of July, 5th in the year 2011.

Eugene served in the US Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was stationed in Australia where he met and married Peggie, who was his wife and soul-mate for over sixty-five years. He was a member of the Australian VFW as well as the United States VFW in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, and marched in 33 Anzac parades in Australia.

Eugene lived in West Springfield and South Yarmouth. He was active in his community where he was a lifetime Shriner, and Mason and a Paul Harris Scholar. He was also past President of the Rotary Clubs in West Springfield and South Yarmouth where he helped to organize many fundraisers for various charities.
Eugene traveled the world and visited every Rotary Club in every country and city he traveled to. Eugene also served for many years as a member of the Board of Directors of Latham School in Brewster, MA.

He was founder and owner of St. Jean Electric and Lighting Maintenance as well as St. Jean’s Appliance store and was a four-time past President for NALMCO. Eugene was a private pilot and member of the Quiet Birdmen. He commuted between West Springfield and Cape Cod for both business and family in his cherished Cherokee 6 plane.

Eugene is survived by five children; Eugene H. St. Jean, Kerri Brewer, Mary Lou duMont, Christy Frederick, and Karmin Carr; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Brewer, Sean Brewer, Ryan Brewer, Corey Kittila, Tyler Frederick, Courtney Williams, and Arielle Biron; and nine great-grandchildren, Hayden and Quinn Brewer of Sydney, Australia, Audrey, Ethan and Collin Brewer, Boston and Isabelle Williams, Payton Koeller, and Noelani Kittila.

Eugene is also survived by extended family in Australia; Brian and Fay O’Malley and Basil and Dawn Gillespie.

A memorial service will be held on, Monday, July 11, 2011, in the So. Yarmouth Congregational Church, at 11:00 A.M.
