Zaffino, Nicholas J.
Zaffino, Nicholas J., passed away at his home in Dennis on June 18, 2012 at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife Peg; his son, Brian Zaffino, and his wife, Rhonda, and their two children, Nicholas and Julianna; his daughter, Amy (Zaffino) Van Wie and her husband, Luke; and his daughter-in-law, Tana Zaffino. He is also survived by his sisters; Elena Davies, Olga Bartels, Elaine Zaffino and Lydia Dumas. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dominic and Richard Zaffino, his sister, Elia, Thouren, his granddaughter, Sofia Zaffino, and his son, John Zaffino.
As a young man, Nicholas (Nick) served his country in the U. S. Navy. He spent his life as a skilled carpenter and loved to share his knowledge of building with others. Nick was known for his warm smile, great sense of humor and generous heart. He was a gentle, compassionate soul whose strength inspired those around him. He was a hero in the eyes of a family he loved spending time with – as a husband of 45 years, a beloved father and grandfather, uncle and brother. Nick will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his guidance, compassion and love of life.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 3-6 p.m. A celebration of life will also be held on Sunday, June 24 at 7 p.m, at 150 Robbins Circle, Dennis, MA (please inquire with the Zaffino family for more details).
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at
Our Lady of the Cape Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd., Brewster, MA.
