Patrick Francis Murphy Jr., affectionately known to many as "Paddy”, a longtime resident of Cape Cod, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 88.

Born in Cambridge, MA, on August 5, 1936, Patrick was the son of the late Patrick F. Murphy Sr. and Alice V. McGuire. He spent his formative years on Waverly Avenue in Watertown before moving to Whitman Road in Waltham in 1948. Paddy was a proud graduate of Waltham High School, Class of 1954. Following his graduation, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958, graduating from Sampson Air Force Base in New York and serving at Palm Beach Air Force Base in West Palm Beach, Florida. After his military service, he continued his education at Northeastern University.

Paddy bought a home in Yarmouth Port in the 1970’s. He worked as a successful salesman for years, and then later owned and operated his own business, delivering specialty foods and items to numerous stores all across Cape Cod. He truly loved the Cape, where he resided for over 50 years, cherishing time spent with close friends like John and Rebecca Mincieli and Walter Hedlund.

He is survived by his sister, Veronica Murphy-Bouldry of Stow. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews: Matthew Bouldry and his wife Leslie Sellers of Salem, Ryan Bouldry of Stow, and Kathryn Bouldry of Stow. Paddy was also a proud great-uncle to William Bouldry, Emma Bouldry, Shelby Anne Elliott, Robert Elliott, Ricky Dolan, and Daniel Dolan.

A brief committal service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 12:45 p.m., after which Paddy will be laid to rest.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. Ronnie, my heart goes out to you and your family. You talked about your big brother with love and respect so often, it's something I will miss. His memory will be cherished by you and everyone who knew him. Prayers for all, he's in God's hands now where there is peace and comfort.
