Barbara Anne (née Culin) Ives, 92, of West Dennis, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Camilla (Gordon) Culin.

Born on March 25, 1933, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Barbara attended Edgewood Public Schools and graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology now known as Carnegie Mellon University. She earned two bachelor’s degrees in 1955 & 1956 in both Fashion Merchandising and Secretarial Studies. She was a sister of the Delta Gamma sorority with whom she made many life long friends.

Barbara married her college sweetheart, Harry Ives, in 1957, at the First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh. After honeymooning in Miami, they began their lives in Iowa and then Kansas. They settled in Ridgewood, New Jersey, for sixteen years where she raised her three children. Finally moving to Cape Cod in 1981, she worked along Harry’s side growing their small business over the next 27 years.

While raising her children Barbara was active with the Junior League of Bergen County, The Depot Handcraft & Shop in Midland Park, NJ, and the College Club of Northern New Jersey. Barbara is survived by her husband of 67 years Harry, daughter Elizabeth Ives Hollis of Wellfleet, MA, Thomas (Amy) Ives of Brisbane, Australia and Suzanne (Cathal) O’Connor of Melbourne, FL. Grandchildren David, Edward, Jennifer, Maive, Aiden, Melissa, Douglas, John, Michael, Megan, and Thomas. Great grandchildren Landon, Jameson, Beckett, Caleb, Peyton, Mason, and Amelia.
Per Barbara’s wishes, services were private. She was interred at West Dennis Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Cape Cod, Elder Services of Cape Cod & The Islands or The Dennis Fire Department.

So Sad to hear of this Beautiful ladies passing. They are my neighbors and Harry was so upset to see his sweetheart decline. She was such a lady. Our condolences to the Family

We are saddened to hear of Barbara’s passing. She and Harry were a great support to me in printing my business stationary and then my wedding invitations! Barbara and my wife bonded over us having twins, as her daughter did too. We’ll remember her always happy and smiling.
