Annette Horbal-Regan
Aug 3rd, 2025
Annette Horbal-Regan, 76, of West Yarmouth, MA died peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Sandwich, MA following a courageous five-year battle with endometrial cancer.
Annette was born in Johnstown, PA to Michael and Bertha (Curcija) Horbal in 1949. Following her 1967 graduation from Greater Johnstown High, she attended Pennsylvania State University. She most recently worked as a concierge and receptionist for Maplewood at Mayflower Place in West Yarmouth, where as a true people person, she thoroughly enjoyed interacting with residents and their families.
Annette is survived by daughter Natalie Regan-Lampert and her husband Brian of Mansfield, MA, daughter Amanda Regan of Woodbridge, NJ, granddaughter Roxanne Lampert, sister Elaine Adams and her husband John, of Johnstown, PA, and many beloved, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, in-laws, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and the love of her life, her husband William Regan.
Annette was very outgoing and made friends wherever she went and would go out of her way to help friends and strangers alike. She was well known for dispensing pearls of wisdom on topics ranging from dating (“If he takes care of his teeth, he’ll take care of you.”) to avoiding primate attacks/making everyone feel included (“Always bring the other monkey a cupcake!”). Loved ones also knew of her affinity for collecting and sharing obituaries she found interesting or humorous. Her family hopes that she would be pleased with this one, and that someone out there with a similarly twisted sense of humor finds this obituary worthy of clipping and enclosing in their next birthday card to an old friend, or care package to great-niece along with their own slightly judgmental, but entertaining commentary.
A funeral service will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church 1130 Falmouth Rd, Centerville, MA, on Saturday August 9, 2025 at 11:00 am, followed by burial at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Centerville.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the exceptional staff of the McCarthy Care Center and would appreciate donations being made in memory of Annette to the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, benefiting VNA of Cape Cod McCarthy Care Center, PO Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02601.

Natalie, My deepest condolences at this difficult time for you and your family. Your mom sounds like a super lady, and from what I know of you in the Garden Club I'm sure she was a big influence on your joy for life and your caring attitude.
Amanda & Natalie, I am so sorry to hear this as you know. Your Mom was one of a kind , very special to all that had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved you beyond comprehension and very proud of you both. She was a very wonderful friend to me for 62 years and I will miss her so much. Rest in Peace dear friend , Memory Eternal.
Sorry to hear your passed. Although I have t seen her since she moved to Yarmouth I thought of her often and loved her sense of humor. She was very proud of both of her girls and always giddy when she spoke of Roxanne. Regretfully I'm working on the 9th. Please accept my condolences.
Dear Natalie and Amanda, So very sorry to hear the news of your mother's passing. Truly she was a people person and would have loved what you wrote about her. May her memory be eternal. In Christ, Laura and family
