Bonnie McNally, 78, of West Barnstable, MA, passed away peacefully on December 7th after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. Born in 1947 in Wayland, Massachusetts, She graduated from Wayland High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Orono.
Bonnie dedicated 35 years to teaching in the Braintree Public Schools, where she was a respected and well-loved math teacher. Despite her long daily commute from her home in West Barnstable, her commitment to her students and to education was unwavering.
She enjoyed the outdoors, the beach and her garden and many years at the Wrinkle Point Beach Club in West Dennis.
Bonnie is survived by her niece Dawn H. Woodward and her husband Jeffrey of Yarmouth Port; her nephew Scott M. Hoyt of East Dennis; her grand-nephews Cristian T. Hoyt and Ethan L. Woodward; and her grand-nieces Casey B. Hoyt and Leah P. Woodward. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law E. Donald Hoyt of South Yarmouth. She is predeceased by her beloved sister, Sandra L. Hoyt, and her parents Louise E. (Leupold) and George McNally Jr.
Bonnie will be remembered for the love she shared with those around her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and that her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
Interment will be private at Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis. Celebration of life details to follow.
