Barbara (Sadler) McCormack

Barbara (Sadler) McCormack, 85, of Thirwood Place, South Yarmouth and formerly of South Dennis, died on November 6, 2015. She was the wife of the late Richard S. McCormack, who passed away in 2013. Daughter of the late Henry and Delphina Sadler, Barbara was a graduate of the Swampscott High School Class of 1947. She moved to Cape Cod in 1960. She and her husband owned McCormack’s Apothecary and McCormack’s Real Estate in South Yarmouth. Barbara was the beloved mother of Barbara of Sandwich, Richard Stephen McCormack, Jr. and his wife Reggie of Duxbury, Rosemary of Winchester and Patricia and her husband, John Briggs of Falmouth, Maine; grandmother of Richard Stephen McCormack III of Boston, Elizabeth McCormack of San Francisco and Henry Briggs of Falmouth, Maine. In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara is predeceased by her five siblings: Albert, Herbert, Henry and George Sadler and Marguerite Newhouse. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 12th, from 10am-12NOON, in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to the “Resident’s Council Staff Appreciation Fund”, Attn: Thirwood Place General Manager, 237 North Main St., South Yarmouth, MA 02664.

Hello Steve & Family, I'm real sorry about your Mom. We all found out to late to attend the Funeral. As you know my Daughters meet your Mom at the All America Pub and Rest. And grew to Love her and so did I. She would have pool party's at her house on the River for the Staff. My daughters would drive your mom home if they thought she needed it and my other daughter would drive her car.Your Mom said: Well Dick is cooking his first Baked Patatoe at 80 years old,she said all Dick had to do is put the Patatoe in the Microwave Oven for 3 minutes, for Christ Sake

Hi Rosemary, Please know that you, Tricia, Stephen and Boo have our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers. Your comfort should be, at least in part, knowing that you did everything you could to make your mom happy, comfortable and secure. She left here knowing that she had a wonderful family.
