Marilyn E. (Sedgwick) Dauphinee 87 of Dennis Port died peacefully at her home Friday October 16, 2021, surrounded by her family following a brief battle with ALS.

She was the wife of the late Raymond D. Dauphinee, who died in 2019. They were married for 63 years.

Born in Boston and raised in Dedham, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Wendell W. and Ruby (Hendsbee) Sedgwick. In high school, she met the love of her life, Ray Dauphinee. She attended Massachusetts College of Art & Design.

Marilyn was a loving mother of five children and they moved to Acton, where Ray opened a Rexall Drug Store. In the 1980's, Marilyn and Ray moved to the Cape. They managed a set of cottages for years. With their music interest, they collected music boxes and belonged the AMICA Society. Their real passion was going to yard sales every Saturday finding deals. On Sundays, they fulfilled their love for God as committed members of the Nazarene Church. Marilyn enjoyed listening to sermons as well as singing and praying.

Marilyn enjoyed music, starting with her player pianos, singing with family, friends, and church members. She would play and sing songs including "Indian Reservation" by the Raiders, and "Jean" by Oliver, and music of Scott Joplin.

Marilyn is survived by two sons, Peter, and Douglas and his wife, Elaine; a daughter, Karin L. Dauphinee and her partner, Mike Brennan; a brother, Thomas Sedgwick; two daughters in-law, Pat Fox and Deb Dauphinee; five grandchildren, Neil, Amber, Sarah, Jonathan, and Nicole; one great grandson, Jodin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Marilyn was predeceased by two sons, David and Paul.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday October 22 in the Church of the Nazarene, 209 Upper County Rd., South Dennis.

Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10 a.m. in the church.

Interment will follow in Swan Lake Annex Cemetery, Depot St., Dennis Port.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209 or to the Church of the Nazarene, 209 Upper County Rd., South Dennis, MA 02660.

Karin.....we were so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing. I had just called her a few weeks before when she told me about her illness and we had a nice conversation. She and I shared a deep passion for God and prayer and prayed for each other often. Sorry we missed her service but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your brothers. May she now rest in peace in the arms of Our Lord. Blessings....Paddie & Dick
