Theresa “Terry” Ann (Mealey) Giaimo of South Dennis, passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on October 22, 2021 at the age of 66 after a brief illness with her family by her side.

Terry was born and raised in Cocoa, FL, before relocating to Dennis, MA. She was the daughter of the late Clarence W. and Kathleen M. (Hinton) Mealey.

She married Frank J. Giaimo, Jr. in 1977 and they settled in Plymouth for their honeymoon years.  They returned to Dennis in l984 where they raised their two children.  Terry’s door was always open and she was often lovingly referred to by her children’s friends as “Mom Giaimo” for her unlimited ability to care for everyone.  She enjoyed many experiences as a host to foreign exchange students and built relationships with their families that have continued through the years.

Theresa was a fulltime mother, daycare provider, seamstress, upholsterer and artist but found her true calling in healthcare.  She became a home health aide and later earned her nursing degree from Cape Cod Community College.  Terry held a special place in her heart for home care and hospice where she provided care and comfort to her many patients and their families. She is remembered for her love of puns, quick wit, selfless acts of kindness, and the unconditional love she shared with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Frank, Terry is survived by her daughter, Johanna Marshall and her husband, Colin of Plymouth, her son, Anthony Giaimo of Harwich and: her three grandchildren, Tessa, Isabella and Adriana.  She is also survived by her sister, Jacqueline Sarmento and her husband, Sam of Dennis and her brother, Russell Mealey of Dennis as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Earl Mealey.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Saturday, November 13 from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 O’clock Noon with a prayer service to follow.
