Judith M. “Judy” Narkon, 83, of Brewster, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 23, with her beloved daughter, Hannah and granddaughter, Jaida by her side.

Born in Granby, CT, Judy was the daughter of the late George and Jessie (Rychling) Guay. She received her teaching degree from Central Connecticut State College and taught elementary school for several years. Judy moved to Cape Cod in 1981 with her family, after having vacationed there for many years.

Judy owned and operated the Brewster Gift Shop with her husband, William Narkon, until retirement. The shop was established in 1906 and was the oldest gift shop on Cape Cod.

Judy had a contagious smile and was so enthusiastic about living life to her fullest. She loved sewing and found so much joy working away on various patterns. Judy grew up playing tennis and was an avid bridge player.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, walking and playing games with family and friends. She especially enjoyed ice cream outings with her grandchildren.

Judy was predeceased by her husband, Bill. She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Narkon, of Harwich, her son, Jason Narkon and daughter-in-law, Heather Narkon of Harwich.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jaida Narkon, Mila Narkon and Elijah Narkon and her brother, Theodore “Teddy” Guay.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road, Brewster. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
