Salvatore F. Mazzarini 94 of South Yarmouth died Saturday November 6, 2021 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

He was the husband of the late Edith M. Mazzarini who died in 2020. They had been married for 69 years.

Born in Waltham, Salvatore was the son of the late Antonio and Poalina (Carpentino) Mazzarini. He was a graduate of St Mary High School in Waltham and Northeastern University in Boston. He worked most of his career at Waters Mfg. in Wayland MA.

Sal was the most helpful and generous man anyone could ever hope to know. Although Salvatore was an avid traveler and basketball coach and referee for years, what Sal enjoyed most was squeezing in a round of golf. He also served as president of the Retired Men’s Club Golf League for many years.

Salvatore is survived by a daughter, Lyn A. Copenhaver of Franklin; two brothers, Francis Mazzarini of Waltham and Anthony Mazzarini of Franklin; two sisters, Ann Mazzarini and Christine Mazzarini both of Waltham; a granddaughter, Megan E. Copenhaver of Boylston; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Salvatore was predeceased by a son, Mark F. Mazzarini; his brothers, Paul, James, Carmello, and John Mazzarini; and his sisters, Elizabeth Ross and Barbara DeAmicicis.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday November 15 in St. Pius Tenth Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

Interment will follow at 1:15 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday November 14 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

We were very saddened to hear about Sal's passing. He and Edie were neighbors of ours, and over the years we developed a warm friendship with them. Our memory of Sal will always be that of a true gentleman who had a great sense of humor and always greeted everyone he met with his ever-ready smile. Sal will be sorely missed, and we extend to his dear family our heartfelt sympathy and condolences during this difficult time.

Hello Lyn, We have such fond memories of your Dad and are so sorry to hear of his passing. I can't remember a time that I didn't see your Dad with a smile on his face. My parents enjoyed all the times they shared with your mom and dad. May loving memories ease your loss and bring you comfort. With love and remembrance, Pam and Stephen Clarke, Linda Hylander and Steven Barden
