Mildred A. (Souza) Cleary

Mildred A. (Souza) Cleary 91 of West Yarmouth passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Epoch of Brewster, with both her daughters by her bedside.

Mildred was a very strong and feisty lady who was a Polio survivor from the age of 6 months. She overcame many challenges during her life due to the disabilities from Polio.

She was the loving wife of the late Raymond J. Cleary and devoted daughter of the late Mary and Joseph Souza “Spaghetti” of Provincetown. Sister of the late Manuel Souza and the late Joseph Souza.

Millie was born, raised and educated in Provincetown. She was proud of her Portuguese heritage and referred to herself as Millie Spaghetti (her family nickname).

She waitressed at her mother’s restaurant "Mary's Snack Bar". Married in 1956, she and her husband traveled in the military until Raymond retired in 1968. They settled in West Yarmouth where Millie was a dedicated and proud mother of two girls and a wonderful homemaker.

Millie volunteered at the senior center setting tables for the luncheons in South Yarmouth and attended many programs. She was an active communicant of Saint Pius X Church in South Yarmouth and a member of the DAV in Hyannis. She enjoyed embroidery, shopping, and a good glass of wine.

Mille is survived by her two daughters, Delia M. Mansbach and her husband Kenneth of Hyannis. Donna M. Patrick, and her husband Eric of Lyman, ME. Her four grandchildren, Eric Patrick of Lyman, ME, Jessica Patrick of Kennebunk, ME, MaryAnne Mansbach of Hyannis, and Ronald Mansbach of Marstons Mills. She was blessed with two great grandsons, Cameron Patrick and Alexander Lawler, both of Maine. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff at Epoch Senior Healthcare of Brewster (Knowles Unit) for the exceptional care that everyone gave our mother.

Funeral services will be private.
