Richard L. Finlay, of Yarmouth Port, passed away with his family by his side on December 1, 2022 at the age of 74.

Richard was born in Akron, Ohio to Mary and John Finlay on December 23, 1947. He attended Carle Place High School in North Hempstead, NY and graduated in 1965. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in history from University of Maine Orono. He worked as a claims adjuster for Hanover and Safety Insurance Companies for over 20 years, and for CCTRA as a bus driver for the last 8 years.

Richard loved being in nature, enjoyed hiking the White Mountains, snowshoeing, archery and sailing. He was a life long car enthusiast, long time member of the Cape Cod British Car Club, and enjoyed his prized Austin-Healy Bugeye Sprite. He was passionate about history and debate, lacrosse, live music, and celebrating his Celtic heritage. Richard was a thoughtful man, quick witted and caring. He lived for his family, and his greatest joy in life was spending time with them.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife Lisa, daughter Kerri and her Fiancé Robert Mulhern and their children Teagan and Shea Mulhern, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Carolyn and Daniel Kent, and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and John Finlay. Visitation will be held at Hallett Funeral Home located at 273 Station Ave in South Yarmouth MA, 02664, on Thursday December 8, 2022 between 5 and 7 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to WOMR Radio. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Cape Cod Hospital for their compassionate care.
