John F. “Jack’ Milan, 93, of Yarmouthport, MA, passed away on January 14, 2016 after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was a father, grandfather, great grandfather, veteran and friend.

Jack was born in Brockton MA on March 2, 1922. He was the first son of John Milan Sr. and Margaret Lynch Milan. He is survived by Kathleen Bagge Milan, his wife of 71 years, and his six sons and partners: Jack & Norman Pierce, Dennis & Roberta, Brian & Kathy, Christopher & Nancy, Terry & Kathy and Paul & Lorelei. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Peter, Dana and his wife Emily, Leah, Christopher, David, Meg and Ryan, and his three great grandchildren, Anna, Liberty and Sophia.He was predeceased by his seventh son, Kevin Milan, who died in 1955.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 p.m., in Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth. A brief visitation will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Station Ave, South Yarmouth. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Brockton MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to St. Pius X Building Fund, 5 Barbara St, South Yarmouth, MA 02664 or the Charity of one’s choice.

On behalf of the Milan family, we would like to express our gratitude to the health professionals, especially the nurses and aides, at Epoch Senior Health Care in Harwich MA for the kindness and care shown to Dad.

I never met a more honest or sincere gentleman that Big Jack Milan. He was truly glad to see you, whether is was just from the night before or 6 months down the road. You could feel it in his handshake and see it in his smile. You couldn't help get caught up in his stories or his laughter both of which he was always willing to share. Thanks Jack. We will miss you.
