Michael John Patterson of Dennis passed away from illness, surrounded by loved ones, on January 27th, 2025, at the age of 45. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth Chamberlain Patterson, beloved son of Linda Patterson of Leesburg, FL, brother of Sarah Cooke and her husband, Jimmy of Ocala, FL, cherished son-in-law of Robert and Diane Chamberlain, brother-in-law of Mary Chamberlain and Daniel and Taylor Chamberlain and uncle of Bodhi Preiss and Charlotte Chamberlain. He is also survived by his grandmother, Joan Wark and Liz’s grandmother, Jean Chamberlain, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Michael was predeceased by his father, John A. Patterson, Jr. Michael leaves behind his two corgis, Ruby and Lila and his cat, Watson, all of whom had him wrapped around their little paws.
Born in West Palm Beach and raised in Leesburg, FL, Michael graduated from the University of Central Florida and went on to work in real estate and the information technology field. He met his wife Liz in 2006 in Tampa, FL. They moved to Dennis in 2009 and were married in Brewster, MA in 2010. Along with his wife and his father-in-law, Rob, Michael owned and operated the Liquor 'N More Family of Stores.
Michael was driven by his faith in God and commitment to serve his community. He was a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis where he served as the club's Sergeant at Arms. He was an active member of the Dennis Republican Town Committee, Town of Dennis Economic Development Committee and Town of Dennis Zoning Bylaw Study Committee. Michael was also a recent Past Master of Mount Horeb Masonic Lodge in South Dennis, MA and was extremely devoted to the lodge.
Michael was a football enthusiast, rooting for the Florida Gators and the New England Patriots. He will be remembered for his selflessness, his strength and courage while fighting cancer, as well as his wonderful sense of humor.
The family wishes to thank the countless family members, friends and employees who have been and continue to be loving and supportive of Michael and Liz. We extend our gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital who cared for Michael for over six years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, MA. On Saturday, February 8, 2025 visitation will be held from 12:00 -1:00 p.m. at Mount Horeb Masonic Lodge, 242 Old Bass River Road, South Dennis, MA followed by a funeral and Masonic Service at 1:00 p.m. to which the public is invited. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's memory may be made to the Mount Horeb Masonic Lodge Building Corporation, P.O. Box 1019, South Dennis, MA 02660 or to the Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis GWF, P.O. Box 188, South Dennis, MA 02660.

Dear Liz and Linda, Many people will miss Michael but probably none will feel the loss more than the two of you. Please know that many people have been and will continue to pray for you. The days ahead will be very challenging without him. Grief Hurts, no way around that one. But as you move forward I hope you find comfort in knowing Michael is completely free now, with No more pain, No more suffering, No more sadness, and No more feeling sick.
