Armand W. Martin

Feb 7th, 2016

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Armand William “Billy” Martin passed away Sunday February 7, 2016. Billy was born in Providence, Rhode Island in1938, the first child of Armand and Margaret Martin and brother to Margaret (Martin) Klem. In 1956, he joined the U.S. Air Force as a radio technician where part of his service was at the Truro Air Force Station. He eventually settled on the Cape after serving his country for four years. During his working years he became a “go-to” person in the drywall business on the Cape. Humble about his craft and general painting/carpentry talents, he never hesitated in helping his family whenever they needed some assistance with a home project – big or small. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, and once made a hole-in-one at the Blue Rock Golf Course. He also enjoyed hosting the family cookouts, traveling to the Adirondacks to visit his sister and her family, or to New Jersey to visit his cousins. His pride and joy in his later years were his grandchildren: Liz, Sarah, Colby, and Abby. They will always remember their devoted “Papa”. He leaves behind his wife Patricia Martin, his three children and their spouses: Charles Martin, Margaret (Martin) Holmes and Collin Holmes, and Matthew Martin and Noël (Valentine) Martin, along with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brigham and Women's Hospital
