Betty Lou (Ehlow) Miller was born at 1902 Wheeler Street during an early snowstorm in Saginaw Michigan on October 22nd 1931. She died at her home in Dennis on September 8th, 2016 with her two daughters and her beloved dog Emma Grace by her side.

Betty was the daughter of Vera and Berthold Ehlow. She had three  sisters - Carol and Phyllis who died in infancy- and Beverly Daubert of Saginaw, Michigan, who survives her.

Betty attended Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw where she played the french horn in the marching band, and graduated in 1949. Fresh out of school she went to work as a switchboard operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Company.

She was the loving wife of the late William G Miller of Dennis and Garden City New York for 25 years. At the time of her death she was married to Robert J MacFarlane of Dennis and Lee, Massachusetts who survives her. They would have celebrated 14 years together this month - years full of love, fun, a crazy and wonderful blended family, and the usual trials that come with advancing age.

The greatest joy of Betty's life was her family and she was the beloved mother of three daughters.  Susan Lynn (Miller) Hall of Brewster and Albuquerque New Mexico, whose loss in 2011 devastated her and her two surviving daughters. Bridget Eileen (Miller) Billings and Peggy Kathleen Miller lovingly tended to her during her final days as she succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

Betty leaves behind two sons-in-law, Leon R. Hall of Brewster and John A. Billings of Falmouth.

Betty's years spent with her grandchildren were a special blessing to her. She leaves behind Leon Russell Hall Jr., his wife Sarah Hall and their son Keanu of West Yarmouth, Mallissa Lynn Hall of West Yarmouth, Rachel Mary Billings and her partner Tom Paradis of Austin Texas, and Phoebe Irene (Billings) Latour and her husband Eric Latour of Los Angeles, CA.

Betty's nieces and nephew knew her to be a generous, larger-than-life Aunt. She will be missed by Michele Lynn Daubert of Boulder, Colorado and Cathy Sue (Daubert) Bober and her husband Rick of Midland, Michigan, and Greg Daubert and his wife Pam of South Yarmouth.

Betty was a second mother to many "adopted" children - you know who you are- who will always hold her in their hearts for her listening ear, loving heart and grand sense of fun. We suspect there will also be a number of shopkeepers across the Cape who will miss her wit, genuine interest in their lives, and her legendary shopping sprees.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 14th from 5pm to 7pm at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth. A funeral will be held on Thursday, September 15th at 11am at Hallett Funeral Home with burial at Dennis Cemetery immediately following.

A celebration of life will be held at Oliver’s Restaurant, Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA on Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 1 – 3 P.M.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601 in Betty's honor.
