Anna Viola (Wikman) McLoughlin 98 of Centerville and formerly of West Yarmouth passed away Friday September 16, 2016 at Brookside at Regency in Centerville.

She was the wife of the late Robert S. McLoughlin, who died in 2003. They had been married for 57 years.

Born in Quincy, Mrs. McLoughlin was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Kallio) Wikman.

A graduate of Barnstable High School, class of 1936, Viola was a resident of Centerville in her youth, while her father served as caretaker of the Charles Ayling estate. She was also a graduate of hairdressing school in Boston.

Viola was a talented cook and artist, enjoyed music and dancing, was an accomplished gardener and loved animals, most especially dogs and birds.

A proud member of the Finnish-American Society of Cape Cod from its earliest inception, Viola was a volunteer at the Hospice Association Thrift Shop in Barnstable for 21 years.

A dedicated and loving homemaker, Viola was a resident of Parkchester NY, Brattleboro, Vt., and Peterboro, Nashua and Harrisville, NH. She was a resident of Yarmouth for 46 years and resided in Centerville for the past three years.

Viola was a grand and gracious lady of genteel manner, She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, relative and friend. She will be missed by all who came to know her.

Viola's family is ever grateful to the staff of The Brookside Assisted Living Community of Centerville and Hospice Services of Massachusetts for the exceptional care provided.

Mrs. McLoughlin is survived by a daughter, Carol A. McLoughlin of Centerville; a son, James A. McLoughlin of Buzzards Bay; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday October 15 in the First Lutheran Church of Barnstable, 1663 Main St. (Rte 6A), West Barnstable. Interment will be private.
