On the evening of June 10,, 2015, Bobby passed away at Cape Cod Hospital as a result of complications related to pneumonia.  He was surrounded by his wife and four children.

Robert Edward Brown “Bobby” was born in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1937.  He was the devoted son of Joseph and Mary (Kane) Brown.   Bobby was raised in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School in 1958, after serving in The United States Marine Corp.

He married the love of his life Janice Lawler on June 9, 1962.  Bobby and Janice were married for fifty-three years.  Bobby was a Waltham Firefighter and retired from the Waltham Fire Department after thirty-two years of service.  As a Firefighter, Bobby drove the first Rescue Truck to service the community.  Additionally, Bobby was very involved in bringing the “Tot Finder” program to Waltham; a program designed to enhance child location ability in the event of a house fire.  In 1976, Bobby was named “Firefighter of the Year.”

Upon his retirement, Bobby moved with his wife to Cape Cod and zealously savored his third act of life.  He loved his home by the ocean and enjoyed many of the perks of ocean-side living including biking, swimming and kayaking. Bobby had an avid interest in fitness and he earned a 3rd degree black belt in Uechi-Ryu Karate. Janice and family...our heart-felt sypmpathies to you all. We always enjoyed watching Bobby run through the streets in the Hyannis Park area and waving to my Dad sitting on the front porch. He was such a wonderful, personable person... May all the memories you have bring you some comfort. With love, the Andrews Family.
