Dolores R. (Putnam) Balfour

BALFOUR – Dolores R. (Putnam) 82 of South Dennis died peacefully at her home Sunday November 20, 2016, surrounded by her family and caregivers.

She was the wife of the late Thomas S. Balfour who died in 1986 and longtime companion of the late Theodore Taylor.

Born in Quincy, Dolores was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Cook) Balfour. She lived in Weymouth and San Diego, CA before moving to South Dennis.

Dolores’ family would like to thank the caregivers from Bayada and Hope Hospice for their compassionate care. Also a very special thank you is exrended to Ruth Holmberg for all the loving care and friendship that she gave to Dolores and her family.

Mrs. Balfour is survived by a daughter, Deborah L. Eccles and her husband, Glenn of Dennis; a sister, Marilyn Murphy and her husband, Thomas of Bridgewater; a grandson, Justin Snook of Dennis; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday Dec. 5 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. The funeral procession will form at 1:15 p.m. from the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
