Ruth Naomi Youngblood DuBois

Ruth Naomi Youngblood DuBois, 89, passed on June 17th at Epoch Nursing Home in Brewster, of natural causes. She was the wife of the Rev. Robert Dubois of Yarmouth Port, where they resided since 1988.
 
Ruth was born in Barrington, NJ on July 30, 1925, the first daughter of Henry Youngblood and Naomi Franke Youngblood.
 
Ruth worked for ARCO Chemical and The Academy of Arts both in Philadelphia before retiring to Cape Cod.
 
Ruth graduated from Haddon Heights High School in Haddon Hts. NJ in 1944 and then attended the Philadelphia Music Academy. A pianist of professional talent, Ruth served the Women’s Club of New Jersey as State Music Director and brought her music ministry to the Presbyterian Church in South Jersey and to several congregations on Cape Cod.
 
Ruth was preceded in death by her oldest son Richard M. Oliver of Mickleton, NJ, who passed away just last month. Ruth is survived by sons David H. Oliver (Joy) of Tampa, FL and Robert E. Oliver (Nancy) of Barrington, NJ, along with sister Elaine Heckroth of Albuquerque, NM and daughter-in-law Bonnie Deacon Oliver of Mickleton, NJ. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, 6 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
 
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday June 27th at Cape Cod Covenant Church, 11 Satucket Rd in Brewster,  followed by the internment of her ashes in the Memorial Garden at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Covenant Women’s Ministries at Cape Cod Covenant Church in Brewster, MA 02631
