Marsha (Prue) Bennison, a life-long Dennis resident, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the age of 55.

Marsha was born in Hyannis and grew up in Dennis. She graduated from Cape Cod Community College and worked for many years as an EKG technician at Cape Cod Hospital.

She was a kind, gentle, loving person, who adored her children, her granddaughter and her cats. From a young age Marsha's vibrant smile warmed the hearts of those fortunate enough to have been graced with her presence. Marsha's main mission and passion in life was to help anybody she could. Her laid back , can-do personality had the ability to make anyone comfortable and happy. It brought her great joy to have graduated from Fisher College which led to her nailing her dream job working for the Cape Cod Hospital, a place she spent more than twenty years having the opportunity to help patients, with many overly enthralled with her bedside hospitality and care. She loved to invite long time friends to cookouts and knew how to make sure every birthday, Christmas, and babyshower , went celebrated. In her free time she loved spending time with her kids, cruising to music in the car and often spending hours basking in the sun at one of Dennis' beautiful beaches.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all those who knew her. It is with great sadness that her family bids her goodbye. Marsha will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. The people around her meant the most to her. She has found peace now, and awaits us in a heaven that just became a million times more beautiful.

Marsha is survived by her father, Paul F. Prue and his wife, Barbara, of Dennis, her three sons, Dustin J. Souza of Maine, Samuel Bennison and Philip Bennison both of Dennis, her granddaughter, Sophia Souza, her sister, Michelle Norsworthy of Maine, her brothers, Paul G. Prue of Dennis and Mathew Charlton of Washington. She was predeceased by her mother, Edna May (Kelley) Charlton.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. in Dennis Village Cemetery, Route 6A, Dennis, MA.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Dennis Rescue Squad, 883 Main Street, West Dennis, MA 02670 or to the Dennis Conservation Trust, P. O. Box 67, East Dennis, MA 02641.

I am totally shocked to hear of Marsha's passing. She was fun to be around, and reminded me of a child of the 60's, peace & love. I was introduced to her while attending the Cape Cod Tech and she was best friends with Iris, a beuatiful funny blonde and a quiet beautiful brunette. To me Marsha was the essence of peace, calm & serenity. She was a beautiful girl that became a beautiful young woman. Your time here was short lived and that is sad. You are now flying with the angels and watching over your family. God Bless you Marsha. Rest in Peace. Deepest sympathy to you family.
