Jeanne (McLaughlin) Bernhardt

Jeanne M. Bernhardt, 84, of West Yarmouth, MA and formerly of Dedham, MA, passed away on February 11, 2017 in her home with loved ones in attendance. Jeanne was the beloved Wife of the late Carol F. Bernhardt and cherished Mother of Peter F. Bernhardt (his wife Marylee Braniecki) of Geneva, IL and Stephen C. Bernhardt of Chicago, IL. Jeanne was the devoted Grandmother to Zachary, Emily and Peter C. Bernhardt and special Grandmother to Nastassja and Nicholas Noell. Jeanne was a dedicated third grade school teacher in the Dedham, MA public school system for many years. She retired to Cape Cod in the 1990’s. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, in St. Pius X Church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth. Interment will be held in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline, at 1:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers and in recognition of Jeanne's devotion to teaching, please consider making a donation in her name to the Dedham Education Foundation. I am happy I got to know Jeanne. She was a lovely neighbor and a lively raconteur. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be missed.

We were sorry to read of your mother's passing and just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you. Joe and I have many fond memories of conversations with your parents in the days when they were always there to watch "the Bernhardt boys" on Lewis Bay. Zabelle and Joe D'Amico
