HORNE – Laureanne M. (Ethier) 60 of West Yarmouth died at her home Tuesday February 21, 2017, surrounded by her family and her beloved dogs.

She was the wife of William W. Horne. Born in Kirksville, MO, Mrs. Horne was the daughter of the late Maurice J. and Gertrude (Schiffer) Ethier.

She lived for seeing her granddaughter Ava and was thrilled to know that she would have another grandchild coming this summer.

She enjoyed camping, shopping, music, road trips, going to the movies, and playing games. She could do anything, including making cakes, candy, painting, crafts, cooking, and frequent dinner parties with friends and family. Mrs. Horne was involved with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Red Hat Society, The Friday Club, the Relay for Life yearly dinner, and so much more.  She was always volunteering to help out with anything and everything.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Horne is survived by a son, Derek W. Wright and his girlfriend, Thays Fernandes of Boston; a daughter, Jennifer Duffy and her husband, Chris of South Dennis; a brother, Robert Ethier of Bourne; and two grandchildren.

My dishes went unwashed today, I didn't make my bed I took God's hand and went with HIM to Girl Scouts instead. That my bed went un made that the dishes were not there In 20 years no one will look or even care! But that I helped a little girl from child to adulthood grow In 20 years the whole wide world will look and see and know. Laureanne you will be remembered by all of us who knew you as the caring loving GS leader and volunteer always there to support the organization and the troops you served. You were a good Girl Scout. Juliette has a new troop member and we have lost a friend. Sonya Howland, Girl Scout Council of Southeastern MA
