Sylvia Keith, of West Yarmouth, died on April 6, 2017, at the age of 88 after a period of declining health.  She is survived by her daughter, Sue Meacham and her husband Mark; two grandson’s, Brian Cristman and his wife, Lisa and Adam Cristman; three great granddaughter’s, Samantha Ciukaj and her husband, Christopher, Kiley Cristman and MacKenzie Cristman and their mother, Sue Cristman.  She was predeceased by her parents, Stuart and Rosemond (Lindell) Hoppin, a brother, Stuart Hoppin, and her daughter, Judy Keith.
 
A graduate of Framingham High School’s class of 1946, who never missed a class reunion.  Sylvia attended Lesley College for preschool education.  She was a dedicated wife and loved being a Mom.  She worked side by side with her husband doing the books for his auto body business for over 30 years and was a landlord for over 65 years.  Sylvia was involved in the community and for several years helped raise money for the United Way.  Prior to retiring to Cape Cod in 1983 she was an active member of the Woman’s Auxiliary for Framingham Union Hospital for over 10 years and continued serving on the Cape Cod Hospital’s Woman’s Auxiliary for over 30 years.  She loved organizing fund raising events and was always so excited over the monies that were raised to help facilitate their cause.
 
Sylvia was an active member of the West Yarmouth Congregational Church.  She loved helping people.  Sylvia spent the last five years at the Mayflower in West Yarmouth, where she was an active member of that community.  She will be missed by those who knew her and loved her and will always be remembered for her generous spirit.
 
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10 am at the Hallett Funeral Home, Inc., 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, MA  02664. Sylvia was interred in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA with her husband, Albert, who predeceased her in 1987.
