CAMPBELL – Thomas F. 92 of Webster and formerly of West Yarmouth died Sunday July 2, 2017.

He was the husband of the late Alice (Gangloff) Campbell, who was from Alsace-Lorraine, France.

Born in Southbridge, Mr. Campbell was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Donlon) Campbell.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, as a corpsman, aboard the USS Houston. This battleship was torpedoed and Tom was one of the fortunate ones to be rescued at sea during the aftermath. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Pharmacist’s Mate 3rd Class in 1946.

Tom worked at General Electric in Springfield as a Timer before retiring and moving to Cape Cod. He also volunteered his time at the Yarmouth Food Bank upon his retirement.

Tom is survived by several nieces and nephews from California, Rhode Island, and France.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday July 12 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

Interment will follow at 1:45 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Visitation will precede the service beginning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Food Pantry, P.O. Box 982, West Yarmouth, MA 02673.

May you rest in peace Tom. Will always remember our conversations behind the deli counter at Shaw's and our memories and discussions about Springfield. May you enjoy the fruits of your earthly labors in our Lord's heavenly home. God bless!
