What dreadful news. Just learned today and my heart is truly heavy. Haven't seen Lara since she was a child in Oceanside, CA. many, many years ago. I send prayers and sincere condolences to her husband and children - and to her parents Mary Beth and Miguel.

I had the the pleasure of working with both Lara and Karl at the Westin Hotel over 30 years ago where they both met each other, Lara was my Boss and I must say she was the best always with a captivating smile on her face along with her great sense of humor and vibrant personality that warms your heart. I am so sudden to hear of her passing. I pray that the memories of Laura's life with all of you will, with time overcome the sadness and pain that you felt.To Karl, her children and the rest of the family my heartfelt condolence to you all.

Having known both Lara and Karl for over 20 years, I was so saddened to hear of her unexpected passing last week; and way too soon! It certainly makes you stop and reassess how you are living your life, eh? Well Lara certainly lived her life like we all should. She was the consummate hospitality professional, had a smile that went on forever and made you feel so very comfortable to be in her company. I have not seen her in about 5 years, but the last time we did meet, it was as if it was only yesterday that we saw one another. She was One in a Million, and I want to extend my sincere sympathy, thoughts and prayers to Karl, her kids and the entire family. We definitely have one heck of an angel looking down on all of us now:)

I had the absolute pleasure of being a client of Lara's for the last 10 or so years. What a joy she was to deal with. I looked forward to visiting with mi amiga whenever I was at the Sea Crest. Lara was one of a kind and I will miss her very much. My deepest sympathies to all.

Although we hadn't seen Lara for quite a few years, we remember well her younger years in Oakland. She and her little sister Adriana, as well as her mom and dad, Mary Beth and Miguel, were frequently in our company, and we were sadly taken aback when we heard of her unexpected passing. Our sincerest sympathies go out to every one of her dear (and numerous) close friends and relatives. We can only imagine how badly you're hurting. Bonnie and Jay Phelan
