Pauline Elizabeth Hardy

Pauline E. Hardy died October 15, 2017 at the age of 92. Polly was born in Springfield, MA, the daughter of Ruth and Earl Dempsey.  She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Paul Hardy, his wife, Barbara, and daughter Allison; Scott Hardy, his wife, Dawn, and children, Eric and Kelly; Susan Leath, her husband, John,and children, Colin and Emma. She also had many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss their Aunt Polly.  She was pre-deceased by her ex-husband, Donald P. Hardy, and her brothers, Bob and Brad Dempsey.

Polly was an artist and art teacher having taught many years at North Smithfield High School in Rhode Island. After her retirement to Cape Cod, she became a world traveler known for creating collages from her travel memorabilia. She loved her family, her cats and living year-round in Yarmouth Port on Belle of the West Road. She was active in many Yarmouth organizations including First Church, the Friday Club, Garden Club, Art Guild and Historical Society.  Polly was also a member of the Highland Light Scottish Society and the D.A.R.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Polly’s life on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth Port, Route 6A, Yarmouth Port, MA.
Burial to follow in Woodside Cemetery, Summer St., Yarmouth Port, MA.
