Doris J. (Burke) Koch 86 of West Dennis died Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

She was the wife of the late Clement G. Koch. They were married in 1969.

Born, raised and educated in Quincy, Mrs. Koch was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Margaret G. (Cappaccioli) Burke. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and received her bachelors degree from Boston University.

Mrs. Koch served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as Captain in 1956.

During the early to mid 1960’s Mrs. Koch was a 1st grade school teacher in Charlotte, NC. She then moved back to Quincy before moving to Hingham and then to West Dennis in 1972.

An accomplished artist in oils, Mrs. Koch was a curator of the Cape Cod Art Association. She traveled extensively and enjoyed music. Her greatest joy was welcoming her family and friends to her home.

Mrs. Koch is survived by two sons, H. Logan Scott and his wife, Suzanne of Fort Collins, CO and Jonathan Scott and his wife, Penny of Canyon Lake, TX; a daughter, Laurel G. Koch of West Dennis; a step-son, Kevin Koch and his wife, Rosemary of Arlington; a step daughter, Amy Koch of New York, NY; four grandchildren, Alex and Katerina Koch, and Maggie and Elena Scott; a brother in-law, William Dunhill; a niece, Kellie Burke and her wife, June Tierney; three nephews, Joseph Burke and his wife, Carol, Rob Burke and his wife, Cheryl, and Matthew Dunhill and his wife, Adele. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Koch was predeceased by a brother, Gordon Burke, a sister, Barbara Dunhill, and her former husband, Hugh L. Scott.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Jan. 8 in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday Jan. 7 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
