Marjean (Rieger) Balboni 88 of South Yarmouth died peacefully at her home Thursday January 18, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the of Henry E. Balboni who died in 1997. They had been married for 44 years.

Born in Akron, OH, Marjean was the only child of the late Percy R. and Mildred O. (Smith) Rieger. She was a 1947 graduate of Ellet High School.

Marjean worked in retail until serving in the U.S. Navy Waves. She transferred to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and worked at Ships Supply Depot. This is where she met her husband, Henry. She was honorably discharged in 1953.

She and her husband moved to Bridgewater and then to South Yarmouth in 1963. She worked at Jordan Marsh (Macy’s) in Hyannis for 13 years and then at Marshall’s in South Dennis for 10 years as a cashier.

Marjean loved her family, cooking, gardening and traveling via RV. She was also a huge fan of the Patriots.

The Balboni family would like to extend their gratitude to Hope Hospice for helping them in this journey for a peaceful transition.

Marjean was a loving mother and is survived by her three children, Jeff Balboni of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Susan Martin and Sharon Balboni Kelly both of South Yarmouth. She is also survived by her nine beautiful grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be private.

Dearest Mom. You left me with so many wonderful memories and joys of my life. I will forever miss you. I cherish every moment I was able to spend with you in the past years. Your loving and caring values will always be remembered and passed forward. Your loving daughter. Sharon. ❤️
