Karen S. Cooper 63 of West Dennis died unexpectedly Friday February 16, 2018 from complications following a kidney transplant.

Karen was raised in Bethel, CT and spent her summers in South Truro, until her family moved to the Cape permanently in 1967. A graduate of Nauset Regional High School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, Karen then worked for New England Telephone Co., where she would spend her entire career in several locations throughout Massachusetts.

Karen was an avid boater, and an active member of the West Dennis Yacht Club for many years. She also enjoyed golf, travel and spending time with her family.

Karen was a generous and caring person, whose petite stature belied her courage and determination as she overcame many health challenges but never lost her cheerful, optimistic spirit.

She is survived by her life-long companion, Armand Cloutier, of West Dennis; her mother, Jean Cooper of Wellfleet; her brother, William Cooper Jr. of Brewster; her sister, Marnie Cooper and her husband, Ralph Stocker of Windsor, CT; Mark Cloutier of Redondo Beach, CA and Gregory Cloutier of East Weymouth; her nephews, Christopher Miller and his wife, Samantha of Somerville, and Timothy Miller and his wife, Sadie Bride of Manchester, CT; and her special great nephew, Nathaniel Cooper Miller. She was predeceased by her father, William J. Cooper.

Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday February 24 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday February 25 in the First Congregational Parish Church, 3 First Parish Ln, Truro, MA.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date at the West Dennis Yacht Club.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Parish Church, P.O. Box, 149, Truro, MA, 02667.

My heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved, Karen. Please know that Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ is aware of your pain and they care for you. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4) . I hope that you are able to find some comfort in God's promise of paradise where there will be no more pain and sorrow (Revelation 21:4,5)  and the many wonderful  memories of your loved one becoming a reality in the future resurrection in paradise.  (Acts 24:15). Please accept my sincere condolences.

Karen - I will miss you. I never heard you complain or say a bad word about anyone. We had lots of fun playing golf, getting our special table at Blue Rock for lunch where you always saved half for Armand. Our golf group at Hyannis Yacht Club was always something to look forward to and so was Book Club, where we didn't talk about the books very much. You were a very special person. I hope some of you has rubbed off on me!
