Lois E. (Allen) Gagnon 80 of South Yarmouth died peacefully Thursday March 15, 2018.

Lois was born and raised in Woonsocket, RI. She was the child of late Franklin B. and Louise (Carr) Allen.

After her early career at the Woonsocket Call newspaper, Ms. Gagnon lived nearly 40 years in South Yarmouth where she enjoyed a career as a bank manager and later in the offices of Drs. Arnold and Juan in Dennis.

Ms. Gagnon was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Barnstable, rejoicing as a member of the choir and serving on the Episcopal Church Women board, the vestry and numerous volunteer activities.

Ms. Gagnon is survived by her four children, Donald Esten and his wife, Kathy and Bryan P. Gagnon and TJ, all of Newport News, VA, Wendy L. Thatcher and her husband, William of Eastham, and Melanie E. Storey and her husband, Alex of Arlington, VA; her sister, Millicent Higgins; and her six grandchildren Emily, Samuel and Christian Thatcher, Lexa and Bradley Lemieux, and Benjamin Corrigan. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul A. Gagnon, her dearest long-time partner, Edwin Humphrey and her brother, Donald Allen.

Funeral services, celebrating her life, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday April 6 in St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 3055 Main St., Barnstable.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday April 7 in Union Cemetery, Smithfield Rd., North Smithfield, RI.

Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday April 5 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

Dearest Bobbin, Although I never really knew your Mom, we had angels & you in common. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Your friendship has been so important to Aaron, Elizabeth & the girls & ive , therefore, thought of you as a special person. Cherish memories of your mom & move on as you pursue life again.
