M. Casey Franklin

M. Casey Franklin 50 of Yarmouth Port and Canton died unexpectedly Saturday April 21, 2018 at his home in Yarmouth Port.

He was the husband of Jill (Hirshberg) Franklin. Born in Dearborn, MI, Casey was the son of Kenyon and the late Marylee (Brooks) Franklin.

Casey lived in New York for several years and worked as a financial analyst. He met his wife while on Cape Cod and relocated to Massachusetts, where he worked for Fidelity Investments.

An avid sports enthusiast, Casey was a “die-hard” Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan. His passion was golf and you could always find him on the putting green.

Casey was a charter member at Kings Way Golf Club, where he was the nine time Men’s Club Champion and he holds the course record.

His creative talent surfaced in his artwork and music. He loved all kinds of music and you could always hear him singing his favorite songs.

Casey volunteered at the V.A. Hospital in West Roxbury and for the Y-D Red Sox.

In addition to his wife and father, Casey is survived by Ken’s wife, Jewelee Franklin; his sister, Kelly Trudell and her husband, Scott; two aunts, Karen Brooks and Patricia Fedorchak; his uncle, Calvin Franklin and his wife, Anne; his mother in-law, Donna L. Hirshberg; his brother in-law, Jeff Hirshberg; two sisters in-law, Lori Dawson and her husband, Bruce, and Robin Jobe and her husband, Patrick; and several loving nieces and nephews.

In celebration of Casey’s life, a service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday April 26 in the Unitarian Church of Barnstable, 3330 Main St., Barnstable, MA 02630.

Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Summer St., Yarmouth Port.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday April 25 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the V.A. Hospital, Volunteer Services, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132.

His wit and generous instructions on the golf course will be among my fond memories of Casey.
