Dennis, MA - Trude E. Maloney of Dennis and Attleboro left this world unexpectedly on May 2, 2018. She leaves a legacy of generosity and strength for all who knew her. She was a graduate of North Attleboro High School, Bridgewater State followed by UMass Boston, where she received her Master’s in Education. Trude excelled in academics and pursued a career in education beginning at the Meeting Street School and continuing with the majority of her work years in the Foxboro School Systems as a School Psychologist. A lifelong learner, Trude was absolutely passionate about education and was a true mentor to her students. She received as much as she gave. She was an avid reader, sharing this love with her students she tutored and her grandson, Greer. Trude had an unmatched zest for life, evident in her many interests and causes. She had a fierce compassion for all animals especially birds. She loved the ocean, nature, birding, gardening, traveling and cribbage. She had a magnanimous personality and was extremely generous to all in need. Community service was a big part of her life on the Cape, most recently she was a member of the Dennis Garden Club, Dennis Police Volunteers, Sons of Erin and Teen Challenge. Trude is now reunited with her beloved husband, favorite cribbage and dance partner Jack F.X. Maloney. She is predeceased by her darling sister Angie and her favorite felines Sonny and Escoffier. She is survived by her daughter Amy B. Maloney and cherished grandson Greer T. Hermann, her brother in-law William Maloney and the Stevens Family. She also leaves her dear friend and travel companion Joyce Marshall and longtime beloved friends the Falugos. along with many other friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten. A special thank you to the MGH Kidney Transplant Team especially Dr. Rubin for taking care of her for so many years. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Teen Challenge or WildCare or volunteer for a cause that speaks to your heart in your community in Trude's name. A Memorial mass will be held on May 17 at 11am at Our Lady of the Cape, Brewster, MA.
