Runge, Claire Mary (Eagan), 67, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on June 7, 2018 after suffering from a long illness. Claire was a loving, devoted wife to her husband of 45 years, Lawrence Runge of Cummaquid, MA and an outstanding mother to her two children, Matthew Runge and Caroline Runge, both of Sandwich, MA. She also loved her “grand-dogs” Andy and Casey. Claire was the proud daughter of the late John and Marion (Johnson) Eagan of Taunton, MA. She was the oldest of five siblings: Janet (Peter) Maloy of Barrington, RI, Nancy (Brian) Ratcliffe of Taunton, MA, Robert Eagan of Virginia Beach, VA and the late John “Jack” Eagan of Taunton, MA. Claire grew up in Taunton, MA and graduated from Bishop Cassidy High School in 1969. She then went on to graduate with a degree in nursing from the Catherine Laboure’ School of Nursing in 1972. Claire was an extraordinary nurse and will be missed by her patients and co-workers alike! In addition to her immediate family, Claire is also survived by many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, in-laws, one great niece, great nephews, aunts and many, many dear friends who will all miss her laughter and upbeat personality immensely. Claire loved living on Cape Cod, going to the beach, gardening and traveling. She especially treasured her memories of Europe and Hawaii! Very proud of her heritage, one of Claire’s favorite quotes was “If you are lucky enough to be Irish, you’re lucky enough” and another of her favorites was “Where there is great love, there are always miracles.” A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at 11:00 Am at the ST.
