Edward K. Snow 82 of South Yarmouth went to his heavenly home on June 22, 2018 after a brave battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Born in Milton, MA to the late Harry M. and Evelyn (Kendall) Snow, Ed grew up attending Milton schools and horseback riding in Milton’s Blue Hills. He attended Emerson College and went on to serve in the Army as an radio announcer with American Forces Network (AFN) in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1964.

He was employed by his nephews Ken and Rich Olsen at Olsen Plumbing and Heating in Dennis. In later years, he continued to be a daily presence in the office, eager to contribute as best he could, despite declining health. He always loved to be part of the office activity and camaraderie.

His lifelong love affair with running led him to run the Boston Marathon at least once. He thoroughly enjoyed attending family events and was a wonderful, loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews, always having time to engage in fishing, camping or whatever activity presented itself. As a result, he was doted on by his beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews through the years. He enjoyed his weekly dinners with Bob Snow and Elaine Waseleski Quaglia.

It takes a village, and in his later years he was helped beyond measure by his loyal and faithful family, friends, and members of his Church, Calvary Chapel in Sandwich and South Yarmouth, where he was an active member.

Until his last few years, he maintained a garden at the Community Garden in East Dennis, where he made friends and produced home-grown vegetables for friends and family. We will all remember his fondness for bird watching. Chickadees were his favorite.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Edward Snow; and his brother, Hugh Snow. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his siblings Robert Snow, Harry Snow II, and Charlotte (Snow) Olsen.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday September 8 in Calvary Chapel, 24 Commercial St., South Yarmouth, MA 02664. All friends and family are cordially invited to attend.
