Lawlor, Mary P. (Leyden), 75, of South Yarmouth, MA and Melbourne Beach, FL passed away September 26, 2018 on her 75th birthday after a lengthy battle with cancer.

 Mary was the beloved wife of James M. for 52 years, and devoted mother of James P. of Elliott City, MD, Kelly M. Renzi and her husband, Steve, of Yarmouthport, MA, Jennifer B. of Waltham, MA and Deborah A. Wohlberg and her husband, Jay, of Mohegan Lake, NY. She was also the cherished grandmother of Casey and Sheamus Lawlor, Michaela Renzi and Madison and Brooklyn Wohlberg.

 She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and Jimmy and leaves behind many cousins and nieces and nephews.

 Mary was born on September 26, 1943 in The Bronx, NY to James and Bridget (Enright) Leyden of County Claire, Ireland.  She and Jim were married on August 6, 1966 in Astoria, NY and eventually moved to Yorktown Heights, NY in 1971, where she became the computer teacher at the Ben Franklin Elementary School. Upon retirement in 2001, she and Jim spent most of their time in Melbourne Beach, FL where she also worked at Melbourne Central Catholic High School.

 Mary’s first love was her family which she cherished more than life itself.  She was also an avid sports fan, becoming the ultimate “soccer Mom", carting the kids from one sporting event to the next. She also lived and died with her beloved NY Giants and NY Rangers.

 Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 4-7 p.m.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to San Miguel Academy, 245 Renwick Street, Newburgh, NY or thru the website newburghsanmiguel.org
