Anne (Terrio) Johnson

Anne (Terrio) Johnson 90,  Avid Smoker, Enjoyed a Gimlet, of Yarmouth Port died peacefully at her home Wednesday December 12, 2018 surrounded by her four daughters.

She was the wife of the late Dr. William F. Johnson who died in 2014. They had been married for 49 years. Born in Waltham, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late J. Marshall and Esther (Lanagan) Terrio.

Mrs. Johnson graduated from St. Mary’s High and went on to Regis College before receiving her Masters in Education from Boston College. She was a lifelong Eagles fan.

Anne spent a year teaching elementary school in Hawaii, where she met her future husband, Bill. Everyday her students would bring her beautiful, tropical flowers. After marrying, they moved to Georgetown where Bill completed his residency and Anne taught elementary school.

In 1971 they moved their young family to Cape Cod to be closer to Anne’s relatives. Anne and Bill hosted many parties and dinners and enjoyed many good friends.

Those who loved Anne will remember her sitting at her kitchen table welcoming everyone who came through her door.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by four daughters, Ann Mason of Dennis, Elizabeth Davis and her husband, George of Yarmouth Port, Susan Johnson and her husband, Doug Ewing of Dennis and Jane Kelly and her husband, Charlie of Plymouth; and fourteen grandchildren, Ellie, Anna, Ben, William and Ryan Davis, Samuel, Caroline and Andrew Roettig, Ben and Nate Ewing, and Joseph, Emmie, Owen and Molly Kelly. She is also survived by her best friend of 82 years, Eileen (Delaney) Debany.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday December 18 in Sacred Heart Chapel, 32 Summer St., Yarmouth Port, MA 02675.

Interment will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Yarmouth Port.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday December 17 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA 02664.

Nan, Beth, Susie, and Jane Thinking of all of you, remembering Ann and Billy and the wonderful family reunion that you hosted. I cherish those memories.
