Hi Barbara - This is truly a voice from the past. My name is Ed Mitola and I worked with Jim at Sikorsky Aircraft in the late 1950's for a short time. However, even though it was short, Jim and I became pretty good friends. So much so that when we needed a good Catholic boy from Mass. to be a Godfather to my son, I asked Jim to do so and of course he did. So your husband was my son's Godfather! Unfortunately time seems to have a way of altering things and over the years we lost contact with each other. I left Sikorsky to go into teaching which I enjoyed for 35 years retiring in 1996. The ironic thing about all of this is that we have spent countless months and days in Cape Cod where my son (Jim's Godchild also named Jim) has a home along with my wife's family who owns property in Orleans. Never knew you guys wee so close by!!! We were up there last week and while looking at the Cape Cod Times, I saw Jim's obit otherwise I never would have known. Just wanted you to know that Jim was often in my thoughts, and always in my heart. Please accept our sincerest condolences. Love -Ed/Joan Mitola
