Elizabeth Hodsdon, 59, of Dennis passed away suddenly at peace near her garden on Sunday, Aug 16, 2015. She was the treasured mother of David S. Hodsdon III and Sarah E. Hodsdon, two German Shepherds, Buddy and Bailey, and a rescue kitty, Lucky.

Beth was born in Melrose, MA and moved to Cape Cod as a young girl, where she developed a lifelong love of the ocean. She was a graduate of DY High School and earned a degree in Criminal Justice at Cape Cod Community College.  Beth’s education was never-ending and insatiable. She was a voracious reader who devoured books with joy, from contemporary to classical literature, history, and biographies. She brought the world a passion for music and gardening, with a special love for White Scaevola, Angelonia, White Gaura, and Pink Roses. Beth loved simplicity, long walks by the sea finding striped rocks, and devoted herself to an unparalleled parenting and love for her children.

Beth leaves behind friend and former husband, David S Hodsdon II, father of David and Sarah, and his family; her beloved sister Joan McDole and her family; sister Marty Dickerman and her husband David; brother Jonathan Eames and his wife Ruth; and niece Lindsay Eames Menough and her husband Matt. She also leaves behind many best friends and their families whom she loved fiercely, including Janice Mcbride, Sandra Aupperlee, and Carol Carey.

Beth was an exceptionally beautiful person with boundless empathy and generosity. She thrived most when taking care of others and had great love for her community. Please join us in celebrating her life at a memorial service at the Dennis Village Green on Friday August 21, at 9:00am.

Beth, was always a fun person to have living next door to us on Nimble Hill Drive. When she was working in her gardens or by her waterfall she would always yell over "Hey, what ya do'in??" We went together for Easter and bought our Easter Candy!!!!!!! She will be missed terribly!! Infact, we had a fabulous time with her on our deck about a year ago, chatting and she telling us how things were going and how happy she was!!!!! Her beautiful smile will be missed

A beautiful obituary for a beautiful person. I didn't know her well, just enough to know I would have liked to.

Beth, I could talk flowers with you all day. You spoke of gardening as if revealing your soul. We will garden together again some day...Love, Aimee
