Ann was born July 4, 1922, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She was one of eight children born to Laurence and Mary Wesner. She graduated from Duquesne University School of Nursing and joined the Navy as a nurse in World War II. She married Navy Lt. Joseph Edwin Lewis in 1946. Together they had five children.

During her husband’s naval career Ann traveled the world, residing in New York, Washington D.C., Honolulu, Hawaii, and Yokosuka, Japan. After he left the Navy the family settled in Marshfield, Massachusetts. Ann returned to nursing at South Shore Hospital, South Weymouth, Massachusetts, where she rose to the position of Director of Nursing.

In retirement, Ann and Joseph moved to South Yarmouth in keeping with their lifelong love of the seaside. For many years they lived on Country Club Drive in Yarmouth together with Ann’s oldest sister Mary Agnes Wesner. After the passing of her husband and sister, Ann lived in assisted living at Mayflower Place, South Yarmouth. After some years of declining health Ann passed away peacefully on June 2, 2019, at the age of 96.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Lewis, Stephen Lewis, and Terrence Lewis and daughter-in-law,Joanne Lewis; 9 grandchildren , Ashley Lewis, Heather Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Molly Lewis, Joseph Lewis, Melody Montoya, Kyle Montoya, Tanya Montoya, and Tenaya Montoya; and 10 great-grandchildren, Madeleine Masse, Joseph Quaid Lewis, Kayli, Sophie, Ariana, Lilyana, Imani, Keriana, Danika Montoya. She was predeceased by two sons, Mark and Edwin Lewis.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 14, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA. Interment will be private.
