Barbara Louise Brown, 90, of West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, died September 7, 2019, surrounded by family. Barbara was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of late Mary and Edward Wagner.

Barbara was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School. She married James H. Brown on August 30, 1952, in Woburn, Massachusetts. They moved to Cape Cod in 1959 where they raised their three children. Barbara worked for over 20 years at Teamsters Local 25 Pension Fund in Boston.

In her retirement years, Barbara enjoyed remaining active with tennis, water aerobics, cultural events and yoga, travelling the United States and Europe and cheering for her beloved New England sports teams. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was a long time communicant of Saint Pius X Church and was devoted to her faith. Barbara will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Barbara is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Bowe; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Thomas Prieto; son, Kevin Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sue Brown; grandchildren, James Prieto, Megan & (Matthew) Giokas, Madelyn, Samantha and Natalie Brown and great grandchildren, Henry and Grant Giokas. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Brown in 2001.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday September 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

The family of Barbara would like thank the staff of Dana Farber, Maplewood, Kindred Healthcare, Bridget’s Group, and VNA Hospice for the compassion and care that they gave to Barbara.

Today at a yoga class. Pat, a friend of Barbara's, placed a red rose on the chair where your mother always sat. A touching tribute to a wonderful human being who was loved by all.
