Elizabeth A. McCabe (Dever) 78 of South Yarmouth passed away Saturday September 21, 2019 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of the late Charles M. McCabe who passed away February 4, 2019. They had been married for 53 years.

Beth was born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Brookline and went on to further her education, graduating from the Chandler School of Business.

She met Charlie on St. Patrick’s Day in South Boston and they were married in 1965. Beth and Charlie began their life together in South Boston and Roslindale before moving to Stoughton to raise their growing family.

Beth was very active with her five boys and one daughter, as they were very involved in the Stoughton community. Beth worked as a kindergarten aide at the Jones Elementary School in Stoughton.

Beth and her husband retired to Cape Cod 20 years ago where she could be found enjoying the beach, spending time with her family and friends, and reading her favorite books. She especially enjoyed her many grandchildren and the beautiful landscape of Cape Cod.

She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all.

Beth is survived by five sons, Sean and his partner, Tiffany LoDico of Centerville, Michael and his wife, Kimberly of East Sandwich, Charles J. Jr. of Boston, Colin and his wife, Jill of Burlington, and Matthew and his wife, Jennifer of Canton; a daughter, Meaghan Mallon and her husband, Joseph of Forestdale; one brother, Joseph Dever of Weymouth; three sisters, Katherine Faulkner of Franklin, Maren Valle of Boxborough, and Sheila Dever-Hines of Wendell; thirteen grandchildren, Kyra, Kelsea, Cami, Ella, Timothy, Connor, Devin, Kayleigh, Allie, Emily, Olivia and Madison McCabe, and Maggie Mallon; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday September 27 in Saint Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth.

Visitation will precede the Mass from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday September 27 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA.

Interment will be private.
