Kathryn M. (Enos) Massey passed away on April 1, 2020 and her husband, Edward B. Massey passed away on July 4, 2020. For the sixty- six years of their marriage, they did everything together, expressing their deep devotion to each other by holding hands endlessly and dancing together to their favorite song. You could always find them sitting among their gardens or enjoying an ice cream at Windmill Beach overlooking Bass River. On summer evenings they travelled by motorized scooters to the ball field to cheer on the YD Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Their big hearts were filled with joy and they shared their love unconditionally with all. Their love story lasted a lifetime.

Kathryn was born on October 25, 1932 to Lawrence and Olive (Cabral) Enos and grew up in Chatham. She was an avid reader, professional seamstress, a Leader of the Campfire Girls and master homemaker. She had been an administrator at Computer Resource Center, a bookkeeper at King’s Department Store, and a waitress at Bill & Thelma’s Restaurant. She retired from Cape Cod Bank & Trust in 1994.

Edward was born on November 25, 1928 in Jamestown, NY, the son of Harold C. and Helen M. (Frank) Massey. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1949 and served 20 years, mostly in Woods Hole and at Chatham Light, retiring with the Pollock Rip in 1969. He later worked for the Dennis Water District from 1969, retiring in 1990. Edward loved the outdoors. His passion was his lawn and gardens, he enjoyed riding his bike, skiing and the Red Sox.

Edward and Kathryn leave behind five daughters, Kerry Desautel and her late husband, Thomas, Terri Jennex, and her husband, Roland, Karen Gonsalves and her late husband, Frank, Sharen DuVerger and her husband, Robert Jr., Sheryl Grindell and her husband, Kevin, as well as 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Bonnie Buck, Nancy Portz and several nieces and nephews. Kathryn is predeceased by: her siblings, Lawrence Enos, William Enos, George Enos.

Edward is predeceased by: two siblings, Harold Massey Jr. and Louis Massey and survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Edward and Kathryn will be held on July 18, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at South Yarmouth United Methodist Church, 322 Old Main Street, South Yarmouth, MA. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers please perform an act of kindness while eating an Almond Hershey Bar.

I only knew Ed a few years before he retired. He was a loyal and dedicated employee. I will never forget how he always came to work with a smile on his face, his quick wit and laughter. Even after he retired, for a good many years he would pop in to the District making the rounds saying "Hi" to everyone. May you rest in peace Ed and Kay.

My heartfelt condolences go out to your family. I have very fond memories of your parents from the fun times shared growing up with all of you and staying over your house. I loved having dinner at your house enjoying linguica and potatoes, still one of my favorite meals to this day, however it never tastes as good as your mom's recipe.
