Kathleen R. (McBride) Cifelli of South Dennis passed away peacefully on August 28, 2020 at home with her loving family by her side. Kathy was born on August 8, 1945 in South Boston, the loving daughter of William P. and Helen M. (Hanrahan) McBride.  The family moved to Chatham in 1947 where she attended public schools followed by cosmetology school.

She was an excellent cook and people raved about her incredible homemade lasagna, American chop suey and her cheesecake.

She will greatly miss the taste of jelly donuts from Dunkin Donuts, not just one but two.  Kathy looked forward to watching Family Fued, Lifetime Movies and,

of course, The Red Sox.  One dare not to call her during those shows.

Over the years, she made many friends during her work at the OKEE DOKEE and was referred to as “Nurse”.  Kathy loved her family, friends, shopping on line and, of course, Denzel Washington. Anyone who knew her appreciated her generous spirit and sense of humor.  She could likely be found on facebook posting inappropriate, funny memes (18+).  Kathy’s legacy proves that laughter really is the best medicine (LOL).

In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her husband, Richard E. Cifelli, sister, Patricia A. Walsh and brother, William P. McBride.

She is survived by her children, Eric R. Cifelli, Tracy L. Cifelli, and stepson, Robert W. Cifelli, brother, Jerry McBride and his wife, Linda, her grandchildren, Jake Civetti, Erica Wallen- Cifelli, Tyler Cifelli, and great granddaughter, Pheonix, as well as nieces and nephews.

Kathy was a very private person in life and would want everyone to celebrate her

life in their own way during this difficult time; perhaps by raising a glass of your favorite adult  beverage would be quite appropriate.

In lieu of flowers, please tell someone a funny story about her. (It requires less watering and “Lord knows” you all have some great stories.

It’s fair to say, as neighbors growing up with Tracy & Eric next door, our families couldn’t have been more opposite. I always loved the setup of your house & I’ll never forget seeing Children of the Corn for the first time there. I suppose the last time I saw Kathy was when Dickie passed away....She had a smokers cough & laughter was often heard. Sorry for your loss ❤️
