Andrew Jerome Whelan, 62, of Dennis, MA passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020, at South Dennis Healthcare after a long illness.

Andrew was born in Boston, MA on March 10, 1958, grew up in Medford, MA and summered in Dennis, MA. He graduated from Medford High School and continued his education, receiving his  B.A. from Boston University.

Andrew was President and CEO of Harbour Financial Group which he established in 1991. Andrew was known by his friends and clients as a great listener with a warm and engaging spirit. Andrew enjoyed his pets, running (ran the Boston Marathon twice), golfing, and was once a competitive squash player.

Andrew will be missed by his loving companion, Dawn Collins.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Edmund L. Whelan and Martha A. (Ingalls), his brother, Michael J., and his brother, Paul J.  Andrew leaves his siblings: Edmund L., Jr. (Serena), Richard J., Marnie Whelan DeVos (Christian), Mary L., Kathleen J., and Peter L. (Mary). He also leaves several cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, Route 28, Harwich, MA on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. The interment will be private.

 The family of Andrew wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of South Dennis Healthcare and Cape Cod Hospital for their gentle care of Andrew.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be offered to The Animal Rescue League- Brewster, 3981 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631.

My thoughts and prayers for my good friend Andrew, Dawn and his Family. We had some great times and I will never forget you; so many memories. Rest In Peace Andrew. You have a place in heaven.

Andrew, I miss that I will never hear your voice again or be able to go out for that steak dinner we were planning on doing when you got better. You are in my thoughts and prayers and praying that you are finally at peace. My condolences to your family, may they find some tranquility in knowing that you are resting now with your guardian angels. You are missed. Love Dawn PS Zoe misses you too!
