Howard W. (Duney) Kelley, the last of the Jose’s, of South Yarmouth passed away on November 2, 2020 at Cape Cod Hospital. Born in Hyannis to Howard W. Kelley (Sr.) and Marguerite (Studley) Kelley, he graduated from Yarmouth High School in 1948, enlisted in the US Navy and served his time on the USS Bristol. He then returned to have a long career with Cape & Vineyard Electric Company now known as Eversource.

He was married to Barbara J. (Ellis) Kelley for 66 years at the time of her death in 2018. He is survived by his loving children, Susan J. Higgins and Howard (Chuck) Kelley, both of South Yarmouth, his grandchildren, Brigette Carty (Simon), Michelle Pocius (Wayne), Amanda Anthony (Scott), Chelsea Kelley and Jeremy Kelley. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.

Duney will be remembered as the “nicest guy” around, loved by everybody. He coached little league, hockey and picked up his teams by piling them into the back of his pickup truck. His happiest times were spent with family and on the golf course playing with many of his former players. He was proud of the 13 hole in ones during his times on the course.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dementia & Alzheimer Caregiver Support Program, Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 370, Hyannis, MA 02601-9978.

Friends and family are invited to visiting hours on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 4pm-6pm at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Avenue, South Yarmouth and a graveside service on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 11am at the Chandler Grey Cemetery in West Yarmouth.

My condolences and prayers to the family. I heard stories of the escapades of Duney along with my Dad and a few others from their high school days, it was quite the group!
